Someone sent me a gift box last Friday.
Unfortunately I was off promoting Rollerbrights with my crew in Nebraska when it was delivered and I didn’t get it until yesterday (Monday).
I received a message from him while we were at dinner Friday night which surprised the hell out of me! He had asked a while back for an address where he could send me something he’d gotten for me, but it completely slipped my mind.
In my package there was gorgeous set of notepads, my (new) favorite movie and a pair of silver hoop earrings.
I didn’t pay much mind to Friday’s text ‘conversation’ with My Catfish until Sunday afternoon, after the rest of my “crew” had checked out of our hotel and returned to Denver. (I opted to stay an extra day and check out a different rink while I was there, as I am probably not going back to Texas – especially Houston – unless I have to. It was definitely worth it!)
But on Sunday, I started thinking about how I responded to him after he reached out to me and told me his mom wasn’t doing too well…
“Whatever” is a shitty response and it probably would have been better for me not to respond at all.
But sometimes I feel the need to have the last word…
Off to Houston, TX with my Sk8 Family for another awesome skate weekend!!
My very first, hard and fast, rule is: don’t skate and date.
After breaking up with someone you’ve skated with and been intimate with, things get awkward.
The skate rinks are like the children; time with each needs to be doled out carefully and fairly.
When can I go to that one? When are you going to this one?
And, if it was a bad breakup, there’s no discussion about any of that…
It really only had to happen to me once for me to learn.
(I dabbled once more after that, but he moved to Phoenix, and it wasn’t serious.)
It only took one serious conversation with a “serious Dom” for me to finally realize that ‘the lifestyle’ might not be for me.
We had a magnificent time!! There aren’t many skating pictures because I took a lot of video (which, at the time, I did not realize).
Also, there weren’t as many people at the sk8 party as I had anticipated, and most of everyone was local to the area (Illinois, Kansas, Ohio – 2 very sexy brothers from Alabama!). It turns out there were only 150 people there each night. It was a tad bit disappointing, but I saw some of my sk8 family and added a couple to it.
On our drive back, we stopped Sunday night in Kansas City and I skated at Winnwood for their adult night. More people were there than at St. Louis’s actual inter-state sk8 party!
On our way to Sedalia Friday morning to get some coffee! It was a gorgeous morning drive after sleeping at a rest stop in the car Thursday night.
Mick has really been quite a hero the past couple of weeks.
My roller skates broke and he fixed my old pair for me so I could skate while I was waiting for my replacements to arrive.
Since then, my replacements have arrived and been customized to my standards 😉 and I think I actually like the old ones better now… but that’s another story… back to the hero part…
Breezy has needed front wheel bearings for quite some time. I purchased the parts and Mick did the work. We spent the Sunday afternoon together. First I had some things I needed to get off my chest but after that it was him working and me asking questions. Car fixing fun!! Soon we’ll be fixing the rest of Breezy’s littler issues. It’s such a relief!
Saturday night my roller skates broke. Well, one of them anyway… *sigh*
I just got them in January! A month before I went to Phoenix!!
